I had the same problem as everyone else. Ontopup is on every scam website with warnings that they set up direct debits without permission and charge extortionate fees to process the payments. The worst thing is, despite them taking monthly payments from me, they never actually topped up my phone! I had to phone them and, of course, got through to someone who could barely be bothered to say ‘hello’. That said, they did eventually refund the stolen money and cancelled the direct debit. I presume EE do this to pay Kevin Bacon!
