Man I tell you these dating apps are a real “piece of work.” I have never seen so many scam attempts ever. Here’s one of my experiences. I met a Russian woman and it quickly goes to emailing back and forth everyday. Within a week it goes from zero to 500 mph as she starts buttering me up with love letters. So I play along and see where it goes. It’s right out of the “Russian Bride Scam” book. She said her parents died when she was young and her grandmother raised and she was all alone in the world. The whole sob story. However I prefaced our conversation early on that I was not giving money to anyone and she actually promised me that she would not ask for money. But once she started the con she asked for money of course. She wanted to stay with me for 6 months in the USA and needed money for airfare and documents, totally ridiculous. But a tell tale sign she was a scam is that she completely avoided any calls or video chats because she was so poor.
