I booked a hotel room on getaroom because the site looked identical to the Hyatt website. After booking I set my phone down and my dog jumped on the phone pressing enough buttons to cancel the reservation. When I got the cancellation email I immediately called getaroom where not one but two customer service agents sent me on a rat race back to the Hyatt I had booked with. Getaroom needed verification of hotel cancellation, then they needed the persons name & title at the hotel who cancelled the authorization, which is something I’ve never heard of and neither had anyone at the hotel, I was even escalated to a front desk and reservations manager. Then I get an email from Priceline about my customer service calls, which seemed extremely spammy. All of that & 2 aggravating phone calls later I still was denied a refund. And I had to file a claim with my credit card as I believed this was a fraud company. I spent $407 dollars to spend 2 hours on the phone with the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had and no reservation or refund. Absolutely horrible experience! Not to mention, their search term title was an illegal marketable use of the Hyatt branding name.
