I went online to get a reservation for Hampton Inn that showed rate of $144. I entered a date and my credit card info and suddenly my card showed a charge of $209. I immediately called the given number and they cancelled the reservation and said the charge was not refundable. I never authorized a $209 charge. This is fraud and bait/switch. This practice damages the reputation of the hotel – why does Hilton authorize such practices?
