I was booking two nights stay at a Wyndham hotel. I used the hotel website to avoid a third party. There was no indication otherwise. I paid the fee, which did seem a little high. When I checked out and asked to see my bill, I discovered that getaroom had charged my Amex 787$ plus service fee 16$ for total of 804$. The total bill from the George Washington hotel was 549$. I was fleeced for 255$ for two nights stay. I contacted getaroom and after being put on hold, was eventually able to open a case. They promised a reply in seven days. On day seven they said the case would have to be pursued separately at fusion something. This company is a total scam. Deception and overcharging is their business model. Looks like their parent company is Priceline. Shame on all of them.
