I booked a stay at a hotel through getaroom.com thinking it was through the hotel’s direct website. I fully prepaid for the stay plus the exorbitant fees charged by getaroom.com. After I stayed at the hotel, the hotel charged me for the stay again and told me that they didn’t have payment information from getaroom.com. So now I’ve been charged twice for this hotel stay (once by getaroom.com and once by the hotel). I’ve tried calling getaroom.com multiple times via multiple phone numbers, but I’ve never been able to reach anyone about this issue. It seems like this company is fraudulent. Not only did they impersonate the hotel’s website and charge ridiculous fees, but they didn’t even pay for the hotel stay.
