Getaroom is a scam! What terrible business practices. I needed a room to attend a funeral with my grandson, and need something very affordable. I thought I was booking directly with the motel and the price was just over $100, and the promise of a 25% discount if I shared my email. I clicked on book, and as soon as I did the price suddenly changed to over $175, with absolutely no cancellation allowed. I’m a savvy online user, and there was no clear explanation of the charges. Calling customer service was really frustrating, the agent read a script to me about their extra fees, so clearly they have had other complaints like this. The agent reluctantly agreed to a 10% refund, but I am still out $50 extra dollars. This is so frustrating, and is making a really sad family occasion even more difficult. Shame on you guys!
