We got phished on Booking.Com’s website for $600. I emailed them the print screens, fraudster’s messages, and payment evidence (wire transfer).They could see the fraud committed on their website, They even banned the property ‘owner’. But then they wanted a letter from my bank stating they couldn’t pull back the wire and that my money was truly gone. Getting US banks to perform above standard customer service is extremely difficult, but after 2 months I got the letter (an email) and Booking.com issued a receipt. No apology or even a top-up extra for the inconvenience and time wasted. All in it was a 4-month process.I was a medium user of their services, and I thought they wouldn’t jack me around for $600. In the meantime, I’m using Agoda and whenever I need to cancel their refund process is easier and faster.
