This is definitely an elaborate scam. Please be careful and read *actual people’s* reviews and comments before trusting online sellers.- The Barestep website is polished and wordy, with long enthusiastic replies from “Laura” via email and social media assuring you of their quality as a business.- There is no real address or contact number, except one generic email address- International transfer fees (for a supposed South African product?) were debited from our account, over and above what we paid for shoes- Complaints -and there are many- on their social media are deleted/filtered out- 5-star reviews on their site are written by similar AI bots in the same wordy tone – Their Facebook page shows that they are operating out of Italy- Website has been suspended seemingly due to a backlog (yet no one can account for ever receiving a product from this company)…so they have our money and we have no recourse.And now they are sending more generic, copy-paste responses to the negative reviews to give the illusion that they are legit. However, emails are going unanswered.I just hope that this creates awareness of more advanced scams.
