Our experience with Agoda has been highly disappointing. I thought I had made a hotel reservation through them but received no confirmation. I called Agoda to ask why not. The gal I spoke with said she couldn’t find anything and that I had no reservation. While traveling I received a text saying our credit card had been charged for a room that we failed to appear for. Long story short, it turns our our email address was shown ending in .coming rather that the normal .com that would be correct and what we have used for more than 30 years with no problems. When I attempted to send an email to our incorrect address I received a failure to deliver notification, just like Agoda would have when attempting to confirm the reservation. That is why we never received any confirmation, notification of cancellation policy or any other communication from Agoda. Only a text saying our card had been charged. It would appear as though Agoda has come up with the perfect scam. This was our first use of Agoda. It’s also our last.
