So I posted our house on Zillow to sell. I had a call about it for a showing after one day. I saw flat fee MLS who will also list your property on MLS for a flat fee or so I thought. They actually upcharge you and just go through listwithfreedom.com so all my dealings were actually through them. I had no idea when purchasing that it was just transferred. They sent paperwork to sign and listed the property. I ended up signing a contract with the first people who called through Zillow so didn’t even use them anyway. But listingwithfreedom.com scams you and charges you a fee at closing as well!! They say they charge the buyer’s broker a fee but if the broker doesn’t agree to pay it you are left paying it. What broker would pay them part of their fee?? It’s just such a scam to get more money from you! When questioned they sent me the small print in their contract stating it’s not an additional fee but a fee to the buyer’s broker so it doesn’t count as another fee they are charging. What a bunch of bull. They should not even be able to legally do this. Read the fine print!!! Please steer clear of this company! They are most definitely not worth the money and they are not ethical.
