Major scam. I took the family to the movies, and the AMC app somehow goaded me into signing up for this “free two week trial” during checkout for my movie tickets. Upon getting home, I started wondering what that was, and immediately canceled it, or so I thought.So of course today I see a $13 charge from Shipments Free on my statement, don’t recognize it, and started searching my emails to no avail. How slick!!! They change their name as they charge you, so you won’t know it was them!!! After about a frustrating 15 minutes chatting with some guy in India, I was able to cancel just now. We’ll see whether the charge was reversed too, as the rep said. Moral of the story; NEVER be duped into any “free trial” of anything while buying movie tickets. My only question is, why would some reputable movie chain somehow allow this scam to be snuck into their shopping experience???
