Inspirecleanenergy

Sales rep visited and asked to see my electricity bill. When I asked why, she said something to the effect of she was part of a NJ state clean energy program and was making sure I was not paying extra. I asked her if she was a state Govt employee and she said yes. I reluctantly agreed. She then proceeded to make entries on her tablet and asked for my phone number, which I gave her. She said she needed to see my phone for a second and I saw her receive a text message on my phone and click on a link on it. I took my phone back, it appeared she was signing me up to something. I told her I do not consent to anything and did not want to switch my provider. Then she left.UPDATE: It looks like she signed me up anyway despite my express denial and I had to call them to cancel. I also had to call my utility to cancel at their end because they had received the transfer request. She used a clever trick, after she signed me up when she asked to see my phone, she put the text message in the spam folder. I found this message later and it said enrollment completed, that’s how I knew! I have never experienced this type of brazen and direct fraudulent approach before. Avoid this company and its sales reps.
