Unfortunately, I will no longer spend my money at etsy. I tried to look for an authentic/handmade winter coat made by a real/genuine seller because I wanted something unique and well made. All of the search results were resellers/dropshippers/mass produced items. There’s no way to filter, etsy totes itself as a “handmade or vintage” site, and continues to ignore 1000s of requests of its sellers and customers to rid the marketplace of these types of (imho fraudulent due to the misleading ‘handmade’ aspect) stores. It’s clear this publicly traded company is riding on the profitable coattails of this junk. At the very least etsy could provide an searchable certification of “made at home” or “designed and produced in-house” so that users could filter out products that are easily found on overstock.com, wish, amazon…the world has enough access to these products elsewhere.
