Depop

    Bought an item from someone, only for them to message me and say they never had it. They also “didn’t know how to give a refund” despite being on the app for two years. Then they disappeared off into the sun.I contacted Depop immediately with screenshots of everything, only for them to tell me that I needed to wait a week to file a report, THEN they would message the seller asking them to issue a refund. They wanted t give a blatant scammer a chance, despite them literally saying they wouldn’t refund me.There is NO buyer protection whatsoever. By far the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with, I genuinely have a hard time believing these a humans handling complaints and not bots. Now, I’m stuck filing a dispute with my bank and the Better Business Bureau. After years of being on Depop, I’m done. I never have these issues with Poshmark, eBay or Mercari.If you want to scam someone on Depop, please have at it. You’ll get free money, and Depop will do absolutely nothing to stop you.Thank you for making this such a headache to deal with during the holidays, Depop!
