Initially signed up for their tasking platform in March 2023, finally was able to work in June, and paid a fair wage on their Computer Science initiative. By end of August they’d locked me out of their platform due to my use of a Google Voice number for verification. 3 weeks later, I get back in and they’ve removed me from all projects, citing performance. You can’t perform if you don’t have access to the platform or a project. Meanwhile during that 3 months I went unpaid for a week more than twice, siting technical errors and a lack of reviewers to verify work.This gig allowed me to get by, just barely. Now I’m struggling to find something similar that pays as well. My recommendation is give it a shot, but be prepared for surprises, excuses, pay delays, and scams. Remotetasks is owned by Scale.ai. They certainly are not hurting for money.
