I received an email this evening from myUS telling me that some products I had ordered were ready to ship. I haven’t ordered anything, so I assumed it was a scam. I signed up with this outfit in 2016 with a view to making a purchase from a US department store, but I can’t remember if I used myUS in the end. I certainly haven’t placed an order since then.To check whether the email was a fake, I signed into my account and sure enough, the bogus order is there! How on earth can that happen, other than an account hack. myUS claim that your data is secure, but clearly not. This is quite worrying, not least because of the nature of the products myUS seems to think I have purchased. I’ll be deleting the account immediately on security grounds because this is appalling.Edit: 20.09.23 – I’ve just had another email from MyUS telling me to ‘enter the value of your purchase!’. The purchase I have not made.
