So shady. This company knows exactly what they’re doing. Like the other reviewers, I made a reservation assuming it was the motel’s website. Getaroom.com was the first result of my Google search. I booked 1 night for $155 but a final total was not displayed. When I checked my email I had a charge of $234. Did I accidentally book 2 nights? Nope, $74 in “tax recovery charges & service fees” The details state “This charge includes the estimated amount we pay the hotel for occupancy related taxes owed by the hotel and any amounts charged to us for resort fees, cleaning fees, and other fees. The balance of the charge is a fee we, the hotel supplier and/or the website you booked on, retain as part of the compensation for our and/or their services which varies based on factors such as location, the amount, and how you booked.” Of course with a scam company like this their policy will not let you cancel. “Each room in this reservation is subject to the following cancellation policy: This booking is subject to a 177.79 USD change or cancellation fee. Bookings cancelled after 08/24/2023, 11:59 PM (America/Los Angeles) are non-refundable. There is no refund for no-shows or early checkouts.”I called customer service to see what options I might have. There were none. I was told “You have to pay taxes on a room, ma’am”
