First and foremost, I like their investing service. The mutual is easy to set up and contribute to. What I don’t like is a lot of everything else. For example, this is a personal finance company, right? They should have some of the best security out there, but they don’t support decent two-factor authentication features. They only accept sms and email. Both of these are common places to get scams sent to. They should add 2FA with backup codes and allow us to choose our own 2FA service. More importantly, they should allow add passkey support. Their competitors like Robinhood have passkey support as well ass other 2FA options, so I have no idea why Acorns is taking such a back seat in this.Past that, Acorns doesn’t create iPad or Mac apps. Forcing us to use their website, which is just a web app to be honest. That’s fine, I can use a web wrapper to open their web app in a window that feels like an app, and yet actually i can’t. For whatever reason, Acorns blocks me from signing in when opening the web wrapper, instead forcing me to open safari to sign in to their website. Not happy about that. I don’t want to use safari, chrome, edge, brave, etc. I want to use an app.
