I booked a hotel for $705 total through hotelvalues.com. AFTER I booked online the receipt said $196 of that charge was for tax and service fees. Ridiculous. I wanted to cancel, and I made this reservation 3 months in advance. Then I found out that I have a cancellation fee of $214 (one night stay). Nowhere did I see this cancellation policy, it was hidden from view or I would have seen it. I called my bank, Capital One, immediately for assistance to get all my money refunded. The bank agent and I were on the phone for a long time with the company’s agent who clearly was from another country, and he refused to refund. We are now in a fight with this scam company and I hope I can get this cancellation charge refunded eventually.
