Despite cancelling the premium subscription about 10 days earlier by using the proper cancellation form on their website (in the account settings), the subscription was renewed anyway and I was charged 70 EUR to my credit card. I initially thought that was a glitch or a human erorr and asked for a refund. Instead, they justified this charge by asserting that I should have formally cancelled my premium subscription via tracked post or email, citing that they hadn’t received either. They even pointed out the specific section of the subscription agreement where it’s written that cancellations must be executed via tracked post (and there is no mention of the online cancellation form). In other words, apparently the cancellation form is a trickery designed to make the users believe they’ve cancelled, while they keep charging the subscription cost in the meantime. Since they are refusing to issue a refund, I am left with no other option but to report them to the European Anti-fraud Office and flag the transaction as fraudulent with my credit card issuer.
