Paid a trial membership like many others and immediately sent a cancellation email. C date acknowledged this email and then was billed 39.90 four weeks later for an account I no longer have . Luckily was via PayPal and I am posting here to give them an opportunity to reply prior to legal proceedings and a PayPal grievance . I have their email acknowledgement so they don’t have a leg to stand on. Never seen so many negative reviews online .C-date requested more information from me through this site which I have sent. I have already emailed their customer service twice prior to this review and still no reply.So their so called customer service emailed me back saying that the email of cancellation is not sufficient that a person has to attach a form , post it or fax it. I am sure there must be something in EU law about making something deliberately difficult to do in order to retain a user . Such barefaced scammers, people like this make me despair the human race.Update …sending them a pdf cancellation letter has generated a reply stating membership is cancelled no further billing etc. I still think that this underhand way of not cancelling the subscription payment unless you follow a very specific pathway set by them is morally corrupt. I also believe this may breach EU consumer law and will be looking into it .n
