Merchbar

I preordered an album that released in February back in December and it never shipped. I finally reached out to support earlier this week to ask what was going on with my order and they told me it was out of stock and my order would need to be cancelled. Why would you even let me preorder if you don’t have the stock to fulfill that order, and why did I have to reach out and ask about it before they let me know it wasn’t going to ship?Edit after Merchbar reply: They’re replying to me and saying that they gave me a refund, but they haven’t. Their support team has been “looking into it” for a week now and they refuse to give me any reason why it’s taking so long. My order on their website also still doesn’t show that it’s cancelled.Blaming this entirely on the supplier is cowardly and incorrect. It’s YOUR responsibility to know what the supplier is sending you and to not oversell, and it’s YOUR responsibility to update customers when you can’t fulfill their order. It’s also industry standard to not charge customers for preorders until you actually ship the items. This entire business is a scam.
