I signed up for credit verify back in October 2021, when I just opened a new bank account as a college student, didn’t know any better, and signed up for that $1 credit verify check. I foolishly signed up with my checking account, so there was no way for me to know that I am being charged unless I checked the transactions on my account. Little did I know that I signed up to be scammed and would start getting monthly charges of $29.95 at first, then went up to $34.95 in June 2022, which I didn’t notice because I signed up with my checking account. When I finally saw that I am being charged monthly, I legit thought that this fee is something my bank charges for doing transactions through my debit card. Since then, I’ve received over 18 monthly charges for credit verifiy, costing me a whopping $589.1, all because I didn’t realize they were a scam until fairly recently, believing that credit verify was a legitimate service.I finally called them today to cancel my account, and someone named John assisted me. He said that it would take 24-48 hours to get a confirmation email that my account has been canceled. I am just hoping that it really is canceled. Also, he couldn’t help me with the refund since it’s past the trial period, which I feel is absurd because I am a college student who doesn’t even have a job and relies on government loans. I think I have been way too nice in my review, but believe me, I am more frustrated than most of the reviewers here since they weren’t getting charged for 18 months. OFFER ME A REFUND FOR GOD’S SAKE!!!
