This company is not user friendly. Their pathway to sign up to find caregivers directed me to sign up as a caregiver, and I was unaware of this until after I had already paid for a background to find out that parents seeking caregivers don’t need to do that. The company has refused to refund me for this. Furthermore, their app is set up so that you can pay caregivers through the app. It does not disclose that this payment goes through without your consent. I had 2 sitters cancel on me who were paid for services not rendered. Care.com has proven to be completely incompetent in refunding parents for these fraudulent charges. Neither sitter took the initiative to correct this as a business owner and we’re perfectly fine stealing from me. One, I booked out a month in advance, they cancelled 3 days prior, put me in a bind whereby I lost money having to get a replacement for work. On top of this, they took payment from me for canceling.A lot of scammers on this site stealing from parents in need of help and the company does nothing to rectify this, pretending like they don’t have the capacity to refund parents and charge fake caregivers for fraudulent charges. Absolutely unacceptable. I’m filing complaints with the FTC and Attorney General over this company as a result of this horrible experience. 0 out of 10. Will never use again. If they’re uninterested in making sure they aren’t a cesspool for scammers, it’s not a safe place to find someone to take care of your child.
